I go with sport on the condition that the cheerleading is competitive. In other words, you have to be doing the kind of cheerleading (the type I believe mama kaz is referencing) in pursuit of a trophy. I coached cheerleading for 11 years on the competitive level and those girls worked themselves to death for those pieces of plastic. If you're just hanging out on the sidelines shaking pom poms (or just yourself) to be popular, sorry...you're not in a sport. Don't give me that excuse about there being no points involved either. Diving, figure skating, gymnastics, AND cheerleading--all judged sports, all awarded points.
My opinion could change but when you consider the amount of money these guys make and the fact the many before them actually played the sport with leather helmets I have to say this is a bit much.
All jobs come with certain risks; higher the risk usually equates to higher reward. Working as a contractor in a war zone comes to mind. It's up to each individual to determine whether the risk is worth the reward.
"The Steelers' James Harrison sidelined two Browns players with head injuries after jarring hits. An NFL spokesman said one of the tackles, on Joshua Cribbs, was legal. The Browns were more upset about Harrison's hit on Mohamed Massaquoi.
Meriweather and Robinson were fined $50,000. The Massaquoi hit cost Harrison $75,000, causing him to say he would have to consider if he still has a future in the sport." Source: http://tinyurl.com/34ghb24
This money is coming out of OUR POCKETS! I want to spend my money on stuff I need not stupid signs in the middle of nowhere and projects that we could do without. I would like to have a dishwasher in my kitchen but we can't afford it so I'm still washing by hand. We couldn't afford a vacation so we stayed home. That is fiscal responsibility. Why can't the government do the same?
Kids, dogs, and ghosts seem to love me and because of that I am convinced that there is indeed an afterlife. I know a lot of people do not believe in ghosts but I've never really had a choice in the matter and can tell you that they have a lot to say about life after death. I can also tell you God is much more forgiving than people are and death is not the end. I have always said that when I get to heaven I will look around and see a lot of people that I'm surprised to see but there will be a lot more people who will be surprised to see me there!
Obamacare must be repealed and most of us are already feeling the effects and understand why. We have just been notified that our insurance coverage will be costing us more than it ever has and there are more changes ahead that will force us out entirely if we are unable to repeal this disaster of a health care bill. I believe that was their plan all along. Obamacare will cripple the present insurance system until it is no longer sustainable. I have to give them credit, it was a well thought out plan that is working perfectly so far. It will take down insurance companies and force all of us into the same level of health care. That way we will all be equal in a nice socialist sort of way. Unfortunately, what most people don't understand, is that their new equal health care will be so inferior to what we had that they will long for the way it used to be.
He is crazy. I am so tired of these sleazy tactics by any and all politicians during elections. I want them to sick to the facts that pertain to the job. I wish they were required to leave all things personal out of it. I don't care if someone smoked weed and planted it it in their back yard when they were 20. I do care if they planted bombs and tried to blow up police stations. I don't care if they cheated on their wife. I only care if they cheated on their taxes. I will no longer vote for anyone who brings up candidates personal lives.
I have to go with sport. Have you watched what they do lately? It takes extensive training and practice to do he stuff they do. It's a little scary to watch sometimes.
I couldn't believe they put it down there! It might have made a little sense if they had put it down by the shopping area. And they should have at least painted it orange. I agree it was a completely unnecessary waste of money.
I agree with Juju about the binky. I say run it under water because sticking it in your mouth is not a good way to sanitize it. It would get cleaner if you wiped it on your shirt!
