I recycle the items my city says they will accept. I shred all personal papers and use that paper as mulch in my garden.

At this point in time the Swine flu is very mild. The Government is up to their fear-mongering again by mandating everyone get the vaccine. I WILL REFUSE THE VACCINE.

Smile and politely say No thank you ! and walk into Walmart..They wont come chasing after you. And they will be there on you way out. Just smile and say No thank you. You don't need to sneak around.

I dont mind them being there and since I work for walmart they dont ask me to buy things lol its the folks who have kids that I get caught by lmao.

I do see your point. My recycle stop is only 2 blocks out of my way, so it doesn't cause me much of a carbon imprint. It was definitely easier when they had trailers set up in a lot of shopping centers for dropping off recyclables. I do always rinse out cans and bottles before they go in my trunk and always wonder about the extra water usage. Boy, there's ups and downs in every aspect of life.

I've said in earlier statements that no one should pledge themselves to any person, including the president. You have not insinuated this at all, so don't think I'm saying you have. But I sometimes get the feeling some people don't think I should have a say as to what happens in our schools because I'm a gay man without children. I probably never will have any children but I have 32 nieces and nephews and 16 great-nieces and nephews, so I do care about what goes on in our schools! And I pay for schools thru taxes, even though I don't have children, so I do have a say!

As for the actors in the video, there could be better ones that were used. But our society has such a wide taste that any actor or actress or singer would cause some to not like it. Can't please everybody, as nice as that would be.

I know what you mean, mama kaz. My sister-in-law can pick up items at garage sales and out of people's trash and make her house look amazing. You'd never know how little she has paid on her furniture and decorating. As the saying goes..."one man's trash is another man's treasure".

There is a yahoo group in most areas that you can tell people you have a fridge, suitcase or computer to give away or that you are looking for a ladder, clothes or entertainment center. In this area the group is FreecycleBlountCountyTN. The only requirement is that everything has to be free and animals can't be listed. Great way for non-used items to go to somebody who needs them instead of it going to the dump!

Hummm... that's what everyone says when WE bring up Bush but the truth is we've got ourselves some BIG double standards going on in this country. I don't want people who are morally bankrupt giving my grandkids advice at school and I don't want anyone telling them they should serve any man. We didn't teach them to serve Bush or anyone else and we arent' teaching them to serve Obama either. I really think if they had left the Obama adoration out of the video and used more actors and actresses who are worth looking up to (and there are a lot of them out there), it would have been fine and wouldn't have offended so many people. It's great to teach our kids to reach out and help others and to strive to make a better life for themselves. I think they need to hear a lot more of that. I just don't agree with doing it in a video at school that comes across as propaganda.

We actually tried to get some recycling going in the little gated community we live in and everyone looked at us like we were nuts. I think we should all recycle as much as possible but I have to say those recycled plastic bags suck! They can't hold feathers. I do reuse everything that I can and love to save stuff from other people's trash piles. My husband groans,rolls his eyes, and sometimes pitches a fit, but later he has to admit that I make pretty cool stuff out of discarded items.
