Give me the Epidural! Yes God made us to where we can have babies naturally but why put yourself through even more pain when they have SO much now to help through labor?

If we wait to see all the details it will be monday morning and they will have passed it on the week end while we were watching sports or going to church. The time to stand up is now, not when it's too late. I agree with Dennis that they already know everything about us but this is scary. I went to a church service 30 years ago to listen to a bible prophecy preacher. Everything he said sounded like science fiction at the time but now it's all happened and this card sounds like the last thing he talked about. I don't have all the answers but I do know that this is craziness taken to a whole new level. I will go live in my camping shed and eat possum before I will get a card. I have a feeling it will be like giving up your soul. Anybody have a good possum stew recipe?

It's not a mental disorder but there are a lot of crazies on both sides. I think the real problem with liberalism is that liberals tend to have an air of superiority and look down on those they disagree with. They do a lot of name calling and exhibit a lot of condescending behavior towards their opponents. Conservatives tend to be too quiet and soft spoken. That's why they don't always accomplish very much and do their best work after the Democrats screw things up by default. That's why we need to encourage change in both parties so that they can work together and share ideas instead of the "my way or the highway" attitude that's going on now. Real change, real change, real change. Maybe if we say it enough and click our heels together three times it will really happen.

I think the majority of Americans are fed up with both parties and may turn to the tea party simply because they no longer trust Republicans or Democrats. We need some real change. We need a complete cleansing of DC. I've been to tea parties and have only seen a handful of inappropriate behavior. On the other hand, I attended an anti war movement in California to quietly show support for our troops and was afraid for my safety a couple times.I saw some very disrespectful and outrageous behavior from the war protesters throughout the course of the day. There were also some very nice people there who I had the pleasure of exchanging some very stimulating conversation with. The tone of that gathering was tense and very angry. I will take the tea party any day.

Ridiculous tea party? I consider myself a part of the tea party movement and I am no more ridiculous than you Rick! Bart needs to go because he can't take a stand and stick with it. We need people who know what they believe, proclaim what they believe, and act on what they believe. THAT is what the tea party movement really is and that's why liberals are so threatened by it. I believe the strength of our nation has always been our diversity. Unfortunately we now have a political system in place that is trying to make us all the same. They want us all on equal ground with the same pay, medical coverage, education, etc.... They want to tell us how to heat and cool our homes, what cars to drive and what can be said on the internet, radio, and cable tv. A lot of incumbents need to go and we need to replace them with people who know what they believe and are willing to fight for it.

I think the doctor is just making a point. He understands that this health care bill is going to change his medical practice in some very profound ways. I know some people think doctors should be willing to work for minimum wage but I saw how hard they worked and what it took for them to become doctors. Doctors refuse to see patients all the time for a variety of reasons. All medical groups cut off the number of government paid health care patients that they see because taking on too many will drain their practice and put them out of business. We all expect to get paid for our work and doctors are no exception. Residents work for days on end with almost no sleep and most of them incur tremendous debt to obtain their medical degrees.It's not unreasonable to want to make a good living while helping patients.
I think we will start seeing a lot of cash only medical clinics open and this is where the best doctors will be unless the government finds a way to stop them. Those of us who can't afford to private pay will have to use government health care. My choices are being taken away by people who don't even understand how the medical system works. I resent that and if I didn't live in the middle of no where I'd have a sign in my yard too.

I would have loved to know the sex of my babies but back then it was really hard to tell because ultrasound wasn't the same as it is today.

At what point did it become the tax payers responsibility to assist in raising children? The money that is given to you and 40% of all Americans that exceeds contributions is coming from somewhere. As our country heads toward a 20 trillion (In the next ten years) national debt I do have a problem with ANYONE (even family) getting more than they pay in. We should ALL contribute to the function of our country and government. (Government should be VERY small but you get my point)

As we're looking at having our fist child I have asked myself; do we deserve (Or anyone for that matter) a massive tax credit for having one? Isn't that the equivalent of being paid to procreate? The problem is if a chunk of cash is sitting there waiting for you to legally take no one is going to turn it down; including me. Now the only thing I would add that differs me from most other people is the fact that I wouldn't be irate if they took the tax credits away to pay the debt down but if they took it away to fund some other social handout I would be. No citizen should be paid to procreate or exist.

I was appalled by this semingly heartless woman who adopts a child, finds out he has problems, and then returns him! She should never have been allowed to take him in the first place. Having said that, I also believe that some children have problems that are physiological and can never be corrected, such as sociopathy. Mental disorders are brain related conditions. What would a caring, loving family do with a child who is truly psychopathic? I'd hate to make that decision. I had a friend in such a dilemma, lovely family, but the son eventually had to be institutionalized and while there he killed someone.
I think he has since committed suicide. So very sad.

Hmm, looks like something we will have to talk about :-) We both feel differently on this. I want to know because I want to prepare the room, clothes, paint (yes Honey I said paint) furniture, etc. I will need to have everything organized and ready to go. I already have to wait like 3 months to find out the sex of the baby, I don't think I can wait another 6 months.

Now let me first say that I realize women want to plan ahead; clothes, accessories, paint colors, and so on but I personally love the mystery of not knowing.
