I Want the Sex to be a Surprise

Rivalry Side B | Other | Living

When you're expecting a baby do you want to know what the sex is so you can plan ahead or should it be a surprise?

I am so happy that we found out what we were having. I wasn't patient enough to wait to find out plus I was overly excited to find out!

I'm torn on this one, because again, IF I ever manage to get pregnant...I will only be pregnant once. SO, on one hand I want to know what I'm having so I can go all out of super girly stuff, or super boy-ish stuff. HOWEVER, I also don't wanna know BECAUSE that is the ultimate surprise...all the time, aches, pains, swollen ankles, labor pains, delievery...then PRESTO...the biggest surprise of your life! If you was hoping for a boy, and you have a little girl staring you in the face, you hear5t melts, and suddenly you don't remember you were ever hoping for a boy. I also think if God wanted us to know in advance, we'd have one of those things like turkies have that says they are done cookin, and at 20 weeks, it'd pop out of our belly buttons and tell us the sex of the baby! lol So as I said, I'm completely torn. If I ever do get pregnant, it will be a week to week debate as to whether we find out early or wait. lol

I would have loved to know the sex of my babies but back then it was really hard to tell because ultrasound wasn't the same as it is today.

Hmm, looks like something we will have to talk about :-) We both feel differently on this. I want to know because I want to prepare the room, clothes, paint (yes Honey I said paint) furniture, etc. I will need to have everything organized and ready to go. I already have to wait like 3 months to find out the sex of the baby, I don't think I can wait another 6 months.

Now let me first say that I realize women want to plan ahead; clothes, accessories, paint colors, and so on but I personally love the mystery of not knowing.
