I agree with Olivia. It's obscene. It would be cheaper if we just built him a ranch or something where he could get away. These foreign trips are only making things worse anyway. The man puts his foot in his mouth every time he speaks without a teleprompter.
I listen to 98.7 but it doesn't come in clearly like it did on 100.3 so it's really ticking me off. I used to listen to Savage but he constantly puts down other talk show hosts and that is a turn off to me. I do love Bortz and listen to him sometimes. I also hate the constant advertisements.
One word solution.... PROFILE! These scanners are going to have a big impact on the airline industry because so many people are avoiding flying because of this. This will end up costing jobs and that's the last thing we need.
Obama should put his money where his mouth is and set an example about frugal spending. His judgment is an example of why our country is so far in debt we will probably never recover.
Why doesn't the U.S. follow the example of Israel and have people sniffing dogs (Charlie would be very good at pointing out females!)Have dogs ever failed to locate a bomb? And we should also begin racial profiling for extra searches among terrorist-loving countries? My opinion is it's time we stop being politically correct and start using some logic!
In college I wrote a paper about this very subject, and after doing some research I found that Jesus' death was preceded by thirteen other martyrs who were allegedly born of virgin mothers, crucified, and rose on the 3rd day. I have no idea where Simon of Peraea fit into this group, but I do know that Jesus' alleged miraculous resurrection was not the first.
If I remember right I was patted down in Jamaica made me nervous even though I know I had nothing to be nervous so I can see making you feel kinda violated.
Is there another reason why these invasive body scanning machines have arrived at airports across the United States?
Consider the following:
"The companies with multimillion-dollar contracts to supply American airports with body-scanning machines more than doubled their spending on lobbying in the past five years and hired several high-profile former government officials to advance their causes in Washington, government records show.
L-3 Communications, which has sold $39.7 million worth of the machines to the federal government, spent $4.3 million trying to influence Congress and federal agencies during the first nine months of this year, up from $2.1 million in 2005, lobbying data compiled by the Center for Responsive Politics show. Its lobbyists include Linda Daschle, a former Federal Aviation Administration official.
Rapiscan Systems, meanwhile, has spent $271,500 on lobbying so far this year, compared with $80,000 five years earlier. It has faced criticism for hiring Michael Chertoff, the former Homeland Security secretary, last year. Chertoff has been a prominent proponent of using scanners to foil terrorism. The government has spent $41.2 million with Rapiscan." Source: http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2010-11-22-scanner-lobby_N.htm
4th Amendment Text:
"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."
