There are a lot of scorpions here in East Tn but the ones we have here must not be poisonous or I'd probably be a ghost by now. I think the giant ones they have in the southwest are though. I saw some in Arizona that were six to eight inches long and I would not want to get stung by one of those. I get a much stronger reaction from fire ants and bee stings. I've never had a spider bite but I've seen what they can do and it's not pretty.
Yeah remember when Emma was playing with the one in the floor? She was pawing it. I can't believe it didn't get her. I thought I was going to have a heart attack!
With you two talking about seeing them here, I'll be watching more closely. Had no idea they were here. Maybe you have them all in Madisonville and we don't have them in Maryville. :) I can always hope, anyway.
We have a lot of scorpions up here on the mountain and they don't really bother me. I've been stung many times but it doesn't hurt much. Spiders can really make you suffer and they are just so creepy.
Mama kaz: I didn't even know we had scorpions here in East TN. Are they not poisonous? You make it sound like no big deal that you've stung. Seems scary to me.
I chose spiders and I hope this next statemtent doesn't jinx me. I lived in the southwest a total of 11 years and I'm yet to see a scorpian alive. Now I will be shaking my shoes everyday.
One time I was actually stung by the same scorpion twice before I realize what had happened but I still prefer them to spiders. Of course it was a smaller scorpion. My opinion might change if I was to come across one of those enormous ones.
I had to pick spiders just because I live in a place that doesn't have scorpions, like most of us do. If I lived in a place with scorpions, I'm sure I would have said scorpions. Spiders are just everywhere.
