The first real job I applied for was given to a minority even though I had the highest test scores, highest interview scores, and was the top choice for everyone involved. The person they hired was frequently seen sleeping in the city vehicle but kept the job for a long time because there was so red tape to cut through to fire him. My brothers are both firefighters and saw the same thing in the dept. It's sad that their safety was often compromised for the sake of diversity....

I don't really drink or smoke but I find smokers more offensive because I'm allergic to smoke and generally speaking they don't seem to understand that their second hand smoke makes it very difficult for me to breathe. A friend of my husband once told me that his rights were being infringed on with the new no smoking law and that if I didn't like smoke I could just stay home and not eat out. I must say that considerate smokers are wonderful and I'm very appreciative.

If you put m&m's on the table your kids will get into them. If you give your teenager your atm card and pin # they're going to use it and they won't spend it on groceries. (beer is not groceries) The government should have been smart enough to know irresponsible people are not going to stop being irresponsible just because they get themselves into trouble. Our govt apparently isn't too bright because even after seeing how irresponsible the ceo's and banks were they gave them even more of our money.

Our countries biggest problem is that there are too many people on the payroll. (welfare) Infrastructure jobs would help only if we could get more of the govt dependent people to take the jobs and share some of the tax burden. Our govt has created such a huge group of consistently non working people that there's no room for fluctuations in the group of people who normally and consistently work. Now that we're seeing these unemployment numbers rise at such an alarming rate among taxpaying citizens I don't know what will happen and neither does anyone else. We're on uncharted ground.

Jessica looks great. Those high waisted pants she's wearing are unflattering to everyone over 80lbs. Whatever stupid fashion designer is trying to bring those back needs to rethink it.

True but there are some people that drink on a daily basis that can still function like normal people.
