I'm going to lay some ground rules for this rivalry. I started this rivalry after discussing this topic on a blog I regularly visit.

Here's some food for thought. A pastor once told me that believing in God and heaven doesn't cost you anything if it turns out you're wrong. However, not believing will cost you everything if you're wrong. I'm not taking any chances...
I worked for a headache specialist and almost everyone who walked in the door with chronic migraines was carrying a diet soda. If you drink diet sodas and get migraines you might want to stop. And this includes diet pepsi....
One thing that no one has touched on is that sometimes it's much more damaging for people to stay together for the kids sake. If they are really unhappy in their marriage it will have a negative affect on everyone. I saw this with my daughter and her family. The atmosphere in her home now is so much better than it was when she was in an unhappy marriage.
I would prefer to not pay taxes at all (like so many of our elected officials apparently) but, since we do, I like the online route. Our accountant was giving himself a hefty raise every year while we were paying more and more out in taxes. We pay less taxes by filing online than we ever did using an accountant.
I grew up in Kansas and remember my grandpa falling asleep (snoring) in front of the tv during cardinal games. If you touched the dial he would spring to life before you could change the channel and say, "hey, I'm watching that." Consequently, I have a fond affection for the cards and always will. I was proud to have a cards fan in my family (Mr Kazinec) and will always remember the day he walked up to Whitey Herzog and asked for his autograph. Whitey happily complied.
Ripi, you've obviously never had a serious asthma attack. I looked up the following stats on the internet. Smoking related deaths per year, 440,000. Alcohol related deaths per year, 75,000. (This includes accidents and disease.) I knew smoking kills more than alcohol but even I was a little surprised by the actual numbers.... Since my drinking is limited to an occasional glass of port wine (in a cute little chocolate cup) and my smoking is secondhand only, I'm not a fan of either really.
If you don't have anything special to put on your taxes, why pay someone $50 or more to do it. Now if you have a complicated return, that's another story...
