I LOVE McDonalds! So we eat it BUT my kids have no video games! My kids are not allowed in the house on nice days, they have to find activities to do outside! They play volleyball, have bikes, help in yardcan also sit and read a book but must be outside,so that doesnt last long! None of my girls are over weight! Winter a little harder but still not allowed to sit in front off T.v. all day! Card games ,they have a pool table or do crafts with me! Gotta keep them off the BUTT!

That's the difference. A lot of parents won't make the kids be active. You can eat fattening food sometimes, but inactivity is VERY unhealthy.

For the most part I think it's the parent's fault. They do have say in how their child will be as an adult. Kind of like a brat. If you see a brat child they will b a brat adult. Some kids though can't help it and will always be fat kids and fat adults.

No questions asked, it is the parents fault!! You decide what your children will eat. I cannot stand to see an overweight child because they don't know what they are doing to there bodies. When you see an overweight child most of the time the parents are also. I consider it a form of child abuse.

Without a shadow of doubt - the parent's fault! If the kids are kept active, throughout the day, and not just allowed to play video games and/or stay on the internet, their metabolism will stay high, thus burning off all of that bad cafeteria food and/or fast food!

I blame the parents first for not teaching good eating habits and introducing kids to candy and sugar. But I also blame society and our rat-race lifestyle. I also blame the school cafeteria program. Fast food has not always been here, but it has been here a long time. Lastly I blame the fast-food industry for knowingly serving high fat delicious food.

Why blame the parents? why blame the fast food? what if its neither what if they have a gland problem do we blame that on God? yes the world is populated by "Fat out of shape people" so the first thing we do is point fingers I am a parent and you know my kids ate fast foods and just because they did didnt make them fat, you cook them a 3 course meal wont make them fat? the school systems wont make them fat? why blame the parent when theres some many more you can point the finger at.

Come on man! Given the two choices, it is easily the parents' fault. I know a lot of people with gland problems. Oh, coincidentally, I know those people because they served with me in the Air Force and were seemingly allergic to physical fitness. I'm sorry if this comes off the wrong way, but I know too many people who give this excuse. I know women who are overweight, get pregnant, have a certain amount of time to before they have a fitness test and suprisingly get pregnant again! Also, none of these people are light eaters. And these are the people defending us! I say write to your representative and put pressure on to make more stringent rules. It would make people like me, who were never afraid to sweat, have an easier time defending our nation.

we teach our children good or bad eathing habits from the start. fast food has always been there, we decided what to eat and how much. i am sick of people unwilling to take responsiblity for their poor decisions.

I say it's the parents fault. Just beacuase fast food chains are there doesn't mean that that should be a substitute for supper every night. And parents don't make their kids be active anymore. More and more kids plays inside instead of getting outdoors.

Great Rivalry! By far the parents are responsible. Not only for providing a good example for the children to learn from but to provide a healthy diet for the children. How many times when you see an extremely obese young child do you see an extremely obese parent? It's very unhealthy. Don't you parents watch Dr. Phil?

i think its the parents fault for not getting their childern off their butts and outside playing and running and staying fit. their fault for letting the child decide on what to eat everynight. (McDonalds)
