I suppose a lot will depend on the controls Google puts in place that allows users to control their level of privacy within their services. As an example: Facebook allows you to manipulate several areas of privacy including instant notifications of log ins, profile privacy, who can read what, etc... Now if Google offers all kinds of convenience services like the one listed below without any means of turning it off then that will make me a bit uncomfortable.

If they give the end users control over their privacy then I currently would be content with what they're doing. However, my opinion could change if new developments arise.

"Privacy hawks in Congress, however, were concerned with some of the details. Alma Whitten, Google's director of privacy, policy and engineering, for example, mentioned that Google could "provide reminders that you're going to be late for a meeting based on your location, your calendar and an understanding of what the traffic is like that day."

The prompted concern Rep. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) and Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn), who were worried about users' control over their information.

Today, Markey teamed up with several House colleagues to pen a letter to Google chief Larry Page asking for more information about how Google will collect data under this new policy, which goes into effect March 1.

Markey also said he will ask the Federal Trade Commission whether the changes violate Google's recent settlement with the agency, which bans Google from future privacy misrepresentations."

While I don't share in your dislike for Eli Manning (That's how I feel about Brady) I do have to admit that is one hell of a qb; there is no denying that.

Before anyone comments I am fully aware that this particular game went into overtime, but the event to which I am referring to took place in the 4th quarter. (Fumble and subsequent game tying touchdown)

LOL. Go figure that I would vote for the Patriots this year, or that I would vote for them at all. I am voting for the Patriots only for two reasons.

    1. Tom Brady is hands down the best quarterback in the NFL right now. As a Cowboys fan it's hard to admit that, but it's just the plain ugly truth.

    2. I cannot stand Eli Manning or the Giants. How in God's name they managed to beat the 49er's is beyond me. Oh no it's not. It was pure dumb luck in the 4th quarter!!!!

    GO PATS!!!!!

I have to say if it wasn't for the medication campaign I would fully support Paula but the timing of the announcement coinciding with the medication doesn't strike me what I would call a good decision. However, I can't be too hard on her as this is still a free country and she can certainly do as she pleases. We can't forget about personal choices and while Paula whips up some rather unhealthy dishes it's up to each individual recreating her recipes to do so in moderation.

This like many other situations is a case of powerful lobbies pulling the strings of those they helped get into office. This time it was Hollywood, other times it's been big pharma, green companies, big corporations, etc...

I would love to see a bipartisan effort to fix campaign finance. I see plenty of middle ground that could be met.

This is one of those rare moments where not only is the support for this legislation bipartisan, so is the opposition and let's hope the opposition wins out or the internet of tomorrow will be permanently changed for the worse.

It absolutely blew my mind that Marco Rubio co-sponsored the PIPA bill but thankfully he's come to his senses; let's hope more follow suite.

"MIAMI (CBSMiami) - On the same day that thousands of websites including Wikipedia and WordPress have gone dark to protest the Stop Online Privacy Act and Protect IP Act, Florida Senator Marco Rubio announced he was withdrawing his name and support for the bill.

"Congress should listen and avoid rushing through a bill that could have many unintended consequences," Senator Rubio wrote on his Facebook page. "Therefore, I have decided to withdraw my support for the Protect IP Act." " Source: http://www.wtsp.com/news/article/232964/250/Rubio-withdraws-support-of-PIPA

I understand that some believe they are simply trying to protect the rights of artists, songwriters, authors etc. by introducing this bill, but it goes far beyond its scope and allows for far too many loopholes. This bill would irresponsibly place powers upon those who shouldn't have it and duties upon others that don't want them. I wholeheartedly believe there is no saying that better applies to this particular bill than "The road to hell is paved with good intentions". Passing this bill is not an option. If my President has any sense he will do exactly what I hope he is empowered to do. VETO!!!
