cutie, not every 16 year old behaves like a 16 year old. Some are just much more mature for their age. Now I can't say for certain that this particular young lady was because I personally did not know her, but I would like to believe that the parents never would have allowed her to have done so if she were not. I am a little suspicious though of the father after having read about him signing a reality t.v. show deal with a network. That makes me question his motives, but it does not make me question hers. She obviously wanted this.
We allow 16 year old men and women to drive. They are considered mature enough to obtain the legal right to operate a motor vehicle, so why is this that far of a step from this level of maturity? A young man or woman could just as likely die in an automobile accident as they could drown at sea. Sorry, but as long as she understood the risks involved and did this of her own free will I have no problem with her having done this. I say allow her the chance to try again if she wishes. It’s her life. It’s obviously her ambition. It’s her choice.
I'm sorry but why would you let your 16 year old sail around the world by herself?!? This is Completely reckless! At 16 years old you are not mature enough to spend a night alone out on the town so why in the world would you let your child sail the ocean? When I heard about this I couldn't believe it. I thought one of the parents was with the girl. I honestly feel like there should be some punishment for the parents. To me this is a form of child abuse. Your daughter is out in the middle of the ocean, if something happens to her what are you going to do?
You simply click the "Join this Side" link underneath the picture of the other side on the top of this page. It will switch your side and take your comments with you.
I've honestly been buried for the last three weeks working on the back end of the website to make it more Search Engine Friendly so I have obviously missed this. I'm taking a side for the time being but that could change after I look further into this bill.
My gut tells me that if there's any question of a bill impeding on the rights of Americans it more than likely is. However, currently that is just a gut feeling. Nothing more. I'll try and look more into this tomorrow after work.
Actually mama kaz it doesn't really matter to me. Sorry, but it was the perfect example to use for the other rivalry. I didn't mean anything by it except to use it as an example.
Last week after my posting, the main stream news even picked up the story about how nasa is warning about the potential for solar activity increases. TN infidel needs to bless us with his insight on the potential problems that can arise from increased solar activity. (mainly high altitude problems, satellite etc.)
TN infidel enjoys looking at the stars and planets through his home made telescope and linking spiritually with aristotle and other pioneers in the field. Sorry if I am wrong about arist being into astrology, i could be wrong.
Rick, this ones for YOU! I looked up the link and the birth certificate looks real so maybe he is a citizen. I would change my side but I don't know how and I don't think it really matters anyway, except to you. Dennis, I'm now talking to you! I think Obama could have put an end to this long ago by being more open about his college background and other things that have stayed carefully guarded secrets for some reason. I think I know the reason and would make a good rivalry if I knew how to start one. I may try but if I bring down the website it's not my fault. I once changed the colors on everyone's computer screen in the entire company where I was employed. (Picture hot pink and lime green.) The tech guys traced it to my computer and came charging in like the FBI asking me how I did it, to which I replied, "I have no idea..."
This is a hard one for me. While I am a firm believer of the rights of an individual sometimes people just need to be saved from themselves. On one hand I understand why this bill is being referred to the committees. There is no greater pain for a parent who has to stand at the graveside of one of their own children. Having personally seen the grief of my mother and father after the death of my sister Rachel I can assure you it is something I hope they never have to deal with again. I would hope that no parent has to, but perhaps this bill might help those in the future. On the other hand we afford rights to unborn fetuses, so what exactly gives us the right to take them away from a teenager who has attained the legal right to operate a motor vehicle? If we place restrictions on teenage drivers such as number of people allowed while the vehicle is in use and the non-use of communication devices during operation then why not for all drivers? Why not restrictions on elderly drivers as well? It is a fine line between the rights of the few, and the power of the majority. It was very hard for me to choose a side. I’m still not sure I like the side I’ve chosen, but would like to see all of yours. By the way, the pictures I have chosen could have just as easily have been reversed to reflect the other side as the side they are currently representing, and yes it was done on purpose.

This is pretty good.

Both are the same wording almost. So whichever you choose to read it is not necessary to read the other.
