It's too bad that representation is easier said than done. We elect people based on their overall values, usually the lesser of two evils, there's no way to judge specific thought processes and specific periods of time where they might be influenced by colleagues, special interests, or even position.
"The Government" gave the money away with no conditions, that's on them.

I love oreos, that was even my one son's first word! But what are peppermint oreos?
Nabisco has more than Oreos though, Nilla Wafers are one of my all-time favorites.

I know four people who smoke pot every day. They are all in their 30's, they all live with their mom's, and are all consistently unemployed. Coincidence? I don't know if it's because unmotivated people tend to smoke pot or if pot makes people unmotivated. Either way I don't see it as a good thing.

I would rather have the great body so I wouldn't have to squeeze into my jeans. At my age neither one really seems very important. The older you get the more you realize it's what's inside that counts. Inner beauty is worth more than the other two put together.

I would definitely choose John and Kate for anybody's kids. I am amazed at their parenting skills and how well they manage the problems that come up in the course of their days. From what I've seen, Octomom was looking for fame and fortune, not for a brood of kids to love and adore. The only bright spot in all of this is that those babies will end up being adopted by loving parents eventually. I just shudder to think what they may have to endure in the meantime. I had one child with health issues and a very supportive and helpful husband. It was exhausting. It's a given that at least some of those babies are going to have serious problems. This will need to see multiple doctors as well as speech, pt, and other ongoing therapy. How is she going to manage this while she's running all over the place trying to get her 5 minutes of fame. I don't know who's more pathetic, the doctor who made this possible, the people who are exploiting the situation, or Octomom herself.

I never thought I would see this in my lifetime but I agree with Ben that we are well on our way to becoming a Socialist country. If we can't find a way to stop the things that are happening in our government right now life as we know it will be changed forever. we should all think about what that will mean for us. Do any of us really want to live in a country where hard work is punished and government dependence is encouraged? Do we want to wait for months to receive medical care from doctors who can't speak English and who are trained in second rate foreign medical schools? (Do you really think our doctors will be willing to work under social medicine where the govt decides how much they will be paid and what treatment patients can or cannot receive?) Do we want a government that tells us what we can do and when we can do it? I would say "God help us" but it seems wrong to ask God to help a country that has turned their back on Him.

Simply because it is a major intrusion of privacy. It's bad enough to have a death sentence; should they have to be labeled as outcasts as well?
Does a disease have the power to steal a persons rights? I don't think so.

I don't think it's a punishment to register highly contagious deadly diseases, and the comparison to sex-offender is wrong. It's more like the person who boarded the airplane without telling them he was sick with contagious tuberculosis and putting the life of everyone on the plane in danger for their life and was arrested. This isn't a cold, it's a blood-borne pathogen disease - once you have it, you basically wait to die. You can prolong life now with certain drugs, but you can never eliminate the disease from your system like cancer. There are already registries for certain diseases like tuberculosis, and also registries of people who take certain medications, so why not register Aids carriers for the protection of all citizens?
