Decided on the redwoods, huh? Well, you and Mr. Kazinec have a great time and get some great pictures! We're dying to make it to August 29, as that's when we leave for Destin, FL. We hear it's absolutely gourgeous!
Yosemite always has a lot of people on the roads and at every stopping point, restaurant and trail while the Redwoods have more quiet spots where you can be alone. I also think the size of the redwood trees is something you have to see to believe. Yosemite is beautiful but I've not seen anything there that I haven't seen at other state parks. I think Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon are two other places everyone should try to see at some point. I really like unique places.
Have never been to either but would love to see both! Would guess that I would choose Yosemite over the Redwoods, though. Either way, bring back some great pictures!
The redwood national park though of course is mainly known for the massive fantastic redwood trees, its also a 40 to 50 miles of the so beautiful coastline which is part of the national park system. This includes rocky promontories, sea stacks and beaches in the Pacific Ocean. Along the coast whales and myriads of sea life is observed from shore. The trails are especially mesmerizing in the early morning or on those days when there is medium fog. http://www.wildlifeworld360.com/redwood-national-park.html
I would say visit the REDWOODS while ye may. At any moment,by some whim or plot or contrivance the Redwoods could be cut down. We live in an "extractive culture" i.e. deforesting, defishing, dewatering, desoiling, despoiling, destroying.
