Now taking drinks into a movie thater is another story. I figure since they price their drinks, candy etc. twice the price of any place else then I have to bring in my own drinks and snacks. their prices are just legal robbery. We've even taken in a tub of Dibbs ice cream and ate it during the movie as it started to melt. If theaters would make their prices more competitive we wouldn't always stop at Walgreens for our supplies before hitting the theater.
This is a whole 'nother story than taking a drink into a restaurant.
I understand diet sprite is hard to find but its a little embarrasing to see some one bring in a drink. why do you think i wear sweatshirts to the movies ;)
Me too but it's an airport for goodness sakes! If I was at some five star restaurant I would never even think of doing this. I wasnt going to waste a good Diet Coke!!
lmao! you two crack me up. I am saying I think in this situation it was ok. Not every time do i think this would be appropriate however it was the airport.
Yeah but the waitres brought 2 glasses so it didnt seem to bother her now I wouldnt go in some fancy place with a drink of my own but at an airport I dont see a problem with it.
I think it's fine and I am thinking about doing it from now on at every place that doesn't serve PEPSI! I'm tired of having to drink coke everywhere I go. It's not fair. I have actually taken food into a restaurant when my coworkers wanted to eat Greek food which I don't like. I ordered a drink, ate my food and ordered desert. They didn't seem to have any problem with it and even cut me a huge piece of baklava.
mama kaz: I understand what you mean, only the opposite. We never eat at Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, KFC anymore because they serve Pepsi. We will get their food and take it home, so that we can drink COKE with dinner. I say serve both and let the customer decide. That's who you're in business for!
I would never do this. I see your point, cutie122403, but I would have kept the soft drink for the airplane ride or in the hotel that evening. I agree with Mr. Kazinec.
All it takes is a simple understanding of how businesses operate to comprehend just how rude and embarrassing this is. You are basically bringing in a product from a competitors establishment and then pushing the cost of ice and dish washing onto the restaurant. We also need to take a minute to understand that waiters/waitresses work primarily for tips. The most widely used form for calculating a tip is based on the cost of the total meal (beverages included)so to bring drinks into the establishment is eating into the waiter/waitresses income.
Come on honey, just admit your wrong and we can move on from this.
If i had been given a choice I would have kept the soda in my bag and purchased another one from the restaurant. Unfortunately I didn't have that choice; I'm married.
No, I can't admit I'm wrong when I know I'm not. I admit that I wouldn't do this any other time in my life except for this very situation. See this is a special situation. It's different from just doing it on purpose. We even tipped the waitress extra to make up for it.
I am very far from being a rude person and think this is perfectly fine. Normally I would not have done this but this was a different situation. My husband and I were at the airport and I wanted to get a magazine to read while on the plane so while we were in the store we decided to get a 20 oz. diet coke. We then decided after leaving the store that we wanted to stop and get something to eat. We ordered some food and I very politely asked the waitress if I could get a cup of ice for my drink explaining that we had just purchased it. She was very nice and brought us two cups of ice. We also gave her a really good tip to make up for not ordering drinks. Remember when we bought the drink we did not intend to eat afterwards and I did not want to waste the drink.
