If you're embarrassed by Palin, imagine how embarrassed conservatives are by the stupid things Biden says. I do realize you may not have heard about any of them since the media seems to ignore his frequent gaffes.

Palin was clearly scripted and often not responsive to any questions not in her script. The winking and the shout outs to fourth graders really depressed me. I was embarrassed to think other countries would be watching this and thinking that we have dumbed down American elections to a silly reality show, 'who wants to be the veep?'

I think some of you have been reading too many internet stories. You should all watch Fox news once in awhile because they actually have republicans, democrats, independents, and every other species on the show. That enables you to get the info straight from the horses mouth instead of reading stuff on the net what anybody can make up. Don't you want to hear things that are going to affect the rest of your life directly from the source?

I thought they both did well and I enjoyed the debate. I think I'd have to give Palin the edge though, considering she was the new kid on the block compared to Biden's long career. I guess I expected him to blow her out of the water but she really held her own. I got the feeling that he was taken by surprise by how hard he had to work at it. But, I give him credit for not saying anything really stupid like he usually does...

Sarah Palin is pretty pathetic. She is indeed beautiful, guys, and she hunts and drinks beer, but she doesn't have a clue what's going on in Washington, or in foreign affairs. Avoiding simple questions was a mistake, a serious mistake. My husband aptly called her 'the cheerleader'. Can you imagine her as President? I don't even want to think about it!

just because she didn't fearfully run away screaming and puking at the same time doesn't mean she didn't lose

I am kind of in the middle on this one. I thought Biden did a good job also. I would like to read up on him a little more. I almost felt sorry for him every time Sarah Palin brought up the things he voted against Obama.

I thought it was funny when Biden was laughing "at" her

By skewing the questions you mean did the moderator ask questions that demand difficult answers? I thought the questions were pretty apolitical, and avoiding answering the questions is not a good strategy if you want to make points with voters like me.

I too was disappointed with the question dodging. It's not enough to keep me from voting for the McCain ticket as of yet but it is enough to motivate me to dive into researching the issues she failed to respond to.

Avoiding questions when the moderator obviously wanted to skew the questions was not a bad strategy. I thought that Biden was making absolute statements, like "We need to know what is causing Global Warming to fix it". Instead, hey, we agree to disagree, but we all agree that burning less petroleum is a good idea, so how do we make that happen faster. Or... We need to talk about alternative energy ONLY, an interim, smart plan to keep US dollars here working on the problem while we develop ALL OPTIONS can't be discussed. Anyone who has run a business or organization and not just talked about it knows that there are WIN WIN solutions in the gray areas, Black and White thinking just keeps things locked up. Why having a two party system just messes up this country!

It really pains me to take this side but political party aside, Biden won yesterday. Sarah avoided answering far too many questions. It's not a complete deal breaker because she didn't fall flat on her face.
