Rural Development Is Okay for USDA

USDA Should Not Be In Housing

Rivalry Side B | Politics | News

I’ve been seeing signs pop up in front of construction projects that boast USDA backing for rural development. One such location is a low income housing complex here in Madisonville, TN. Should the USDA stick to Agriculture?

They can't even handle the areas they were set up for. Why do we need or want them adding housing to the list of things they are failing miserably at.

You'll find the following listed on the Mission Statement page:

"...providing financing needed to help expand job opportunities and improve housing, utilities and infrastructure in rural America..."

When I think of the USDA (Department of Agriculture) I do not think of rural development by improving housing, utilities, and infrastructure. This is tax dollars being misused by agencies who have broadened their activities to stretch far beyond their original intent. Big government getting bigger.
