The benefits of Organic foods far out-way conventional grown foods. I wont even get into the additional nutritional benefits but stick to the lack of pesticides, ionized radiation, nitrates, GMO's and Sewage Sludge(yuck). How can anyone think that a chemical such as Pesticides that are designed to kill, sprayed on your food and then digested into your body can be anything but harmful. Is Organic Food Healthier? http://wholeyounutrition.com/category/organic/
Psychologically Organics make you feel better about what you are buying. But I don't think there is too much difference in the two in reality. The same co. can produce both..it may be just marketing.
I hate to be the one to tell you this but most organic is a crock of fertilizer. A friend of mine did computer work for a large chicken company and discovered the only difference between organic chicken and regular was ten days off the hormones and other goodies before going to market. The only way to guarantee organic is to grow it yourself. As someone who has cleaned the chicken house, milked cows, slopped the hogs, and weeded the garden, I'd just as soon die sooner eating regular food.
I definately believe in the health benefits of organic nutrition. I eat organic as much as possible. Since starting, I feel so much better. I feel like I have more energy and that my body functions better. Also, I've gotten sick WAY less. It's amazing how toxins affect your body!
It's pathetic...I feel like Kate from "John and Kate Plus 8" because thats all she buys is organic and that's all I have bought lately. I think its definitely worth spending more money to eat healthier. Hmm...I think I may have a new rivalry.
