Obama Bow was a Sign of Weakness

Rivalry Side B | Politics | News

If it was indeed a bow was it a sign of respect or a sign of weakness on Obama's part?

In my opinion, the bow was to show that Obama is a Muslim.

NO REASON FOR ME TO NOT SAY WHAT I THINK WHEN THE SITE EDITS MY SPEECH RIGHT

Please fill me in on where the site has edited your speech. We have a language filter to censor certain very foul words but even with the random characters taking the place of the words you are still free to say what you want. If that's not what you're referring to please let me know you're talking about.

You are free to say whatever you'd like and we will not edit it. The language filter is our attempt to keep things somewhat family friendly but I have received several complaints about it in the past so we may end up doing away with it in the future.

I'll start a rivalry so users can decide the fate of it.

If you have any future questions or concerns please don't hesitate to ask.

Some people try to use every "little" act to make Obama look bad. Obviously, his bow was a sign of respect. He's trying to take the USA back into having a little respect from the rest of the world. Not that we need everyone else's respect but all people and country's should still strive for respect from others.

It was just respect. When you're visiting another country, you should respect their culture. Especially since that's what we (Americans) want people who visit our country to do (e.g. we want people to speak English when the come to America, even if it's not their native tongue, right?) There is no weakness in this at all.

I don't think we expect foreigners visiting here to speak English. I think we expect foreigners who live in our country to know English, so that there aren't communication barriers. If I moved to France I would expect to learn French but I wouldn't necessarily learn French just because I am going to France for a vacation. Visiting somewhere and living somewhere are different situations.

Its common in other cultures for a bow to mean that you show respect for them. There's no weakness to it.

Strength comes from inside and the way you do things. One simple bow is never a sign of weakness!

There's a good reason why no American president has ever done this before. I think the fact that he decided to be the first says a lot about where he is taking our our country and it's not good. He's always comparing himself to Lincoln, Roosevelt, and other great presidents but none of them would have ever done this.

What about President Bush who held his hand all day and danced with him while whispering in his ear? What is that a sign of?

Bowing or shaking someone's hand are completely different meanings.
