homeless should be aloud to eat homeless animals.......bottom line is people come first, every makes bad decisions, but that don't mean their life is worth less than a dog. if some one gave you a gun and said shoot your dog, or this homeless guy, who you gonna shoot? you can get a new dog, you can't bring back dead homeless guy.
I thought I'd add this (very touching) story into the mix to show you all I'm not such a heartless fool:

yeah dogs natural habitat is outside, fact is animals can't talk, if they could they might say they hate their owners because they trap them inside all day, or because they won't let them eat their own sh1t and vomit. maybe your dog wants to run outside all day and roll and dead stinky stuff, and guess what you animal freaks are debriving them from that, so i agree with dennis.
Dennis, Many animals habitat are outdoors but these are DOMESTICATED breeds. There is a huge difference. Have you ever watched studies on how different dogs and wolves ( their ancestors) react? One example was that a wold never looks to a human to solve a dilema for them but the dogs always did. Their genetics are different.
Also the last time I checked animals didnt try to manipulate an entire country into going to war with another country nor have animals committed acts of mass murder. I'm just sayin'.
Animals for sure! They are innocent, loyal, loving, and don't deserve to be left on the streets. People have abandoned them and they suffer at our hands, while many of the homeless caused their own dilema, not all ( the economy and some legitimate reasons have placed people on the streets ), but these domesticated animals are dependent on us.
I agree wholeheartedly. One thing I didn't mention when I started this rivalry; the dog in the picture on right is who motivated me to start this one. It breaks my heart to see dogs struggling to survive and this poor dog was begging for food in a food lion parking lot.
Mama Kaz, I have helped my sister in the soup lines in downtown Atlanta and found the same to be true.
Some of them tear your heart out, but others are rude, demanding and like you said, 'picky'. I still provide blankets and coats during the winter for these people, even if it is their choice to live that way.
I took the time to become acquainted with many of the homeless people in the Sacramento area where I worked and found that many of them are actually happy with their lives. (Of course the weather is mild in California...) I think the same holds true for many of the animals I see around my house in the woods here. But, animals who are abandoned after being protected are an exception and I feel very sad for them because they don't understand. At least people have that understanding. Surprisingly many homeless people I knew were kind of picky about everything from food to brands of make up that I provided them with... (One lady always asked for make up...)
I asked my dogs, Charlie and Slider, if their natural habitat is outdoors and they said 'heavens no! Where di you get that idea?' :-) 'Not since out ancestors were wolves!'
People who are not physicaly nor mentaly challenged have every opportunity to create a positive future in this country. I am not a real big pet fan, however, i am more scared to hurt an animal then a human. The reason is: I would probably get more jail time for hurting the animal. I am not trying to be funny! We have put pets on a pedistal higher then mankind here in the states. I think pets are great for people, and i am by no means a pet hater. For the love of bon bons, lets not forget, we are the superior beings on this planet.:)
People make their own choices, in most cases, and there are government organizations to feed and house those who are homeless. Animal feel the same pain, fear and helplessness as humans, but they have no choice except to reply on humans. I feel far more sympathy for them! If my priorities are screwed up, so be it!
Dennis, an animals natural habitat depends on what kind of animal your referring to. Dogs have been raised as pets dating back thousands of years. Now if we were referring to coyotes or lions yes, they are wild animals.
...but I still think animals don't 'deserve' anything (neither do we for that matter*) including to keep receiving something they were given just because they are used to it.
Oh Dennis but they do deserve something. Dogs are the most loyal animals. My dogs are such a huge part of my life. I don't have any children so they kind of take the place of kids. They are my babies. If no one cared for me in the entire world my dogs would always be there for me.
I don't like watching anyone suffer either but I can't help but wonder, how did they get there? Was it from laziness, misfortune, an act of God? I am a firm believer that you choose your own path and if life throws you a curve ball, step into it and knock it out of the park.
There is one VERY big difference. A majority of homeless people have made some bad choices in their life to get where they are. Sure misfortune can hit anyone but animals are at the complete mercy of their owners. They don\'t choose to become homeless because they made a bad decision the become homeless because some douche bag couldn\'t keep up with the commitment they made when they purchased, adopted, or received the animal.
Let me make a serious point here - I live in NYC so I understand how serious homelessness is and I have my own opinions on it - but we are talking about PEOPLE versus ANIMALS. Am I the only one who realizes that these are animals??
I am such an animal lover and it breaks my heart to see an animal on the side of the road. It's not there fault that they got there...they are completely innocent. I would do anything to help one. They also can't make decisions..... so that is all I am going to say.
