Greed to me is never having enough, being big enough, small enough, never having too much money, it's wanting more than you need and deserve and can handle. Greed is such a dirty word to me for some reason I hate the word greed. I dont think that all rich people are greedy. Some are motivated, hard workers in my opinion.

I've never had a problem with the rich being rich but I do have a problem with being forced to give what I work for to those who choose not to work. Lets all remember that these "greedy' people pay most of our countries taxes and are the fuel that keeps the engine running. We are going to see how true this is as more of them high tail it out of the USA and take their money with them. I think we will all be wishing that these "greedy" people were still in their ivory towers showering us with their menial jobs and big tax revenue. Envy of greedy people can be bad too...

Gotta vote greed on this one! It'll bankrupt you. Envy makes you want what others have - greed will make you think you don't have enough and do everything to get it - even if you have more than enough.

Good question although I have another. Anybody know the difference between jealousy and envy and which one is actually better? It's an old topic, but in analyzing the greed v. envy debate I couldn't help, but think about it.

Ryan you know how I feel about this one. I think greed is what has prompted this recession. I'm not saying be a socialist society, but there should be businesses that are OK with making a lot of money now instead of A LOT of money now.

I won't argue one bit that greed played a major role but I'm hoping you can't argue that Envy played a role as well. Think of all the entitlement. So many people felt they deserved big homes they couldn't afford because others had big homes. Both sins were devastating but I was hoping it would make for some interesting discussion.

Sure, both exist and are bad, but I think greed played a major factor in getting us where we are right now and it continues. You know what I always say: if some of these companies would be content making a lot of money long term instead of a TON of money now we could recover quicker.

To steal a quote from Dennis.

Envy is the ulcer of the soul.
