I've had the same loving and affectionate cat for almost 14 years. She greets me at the door when I get home and jumps up in my lap for loving when I'm on the couch. I've had 2 dogs since Valentine's Day (3 months) and yes, they love me and want attention, too. BUT they make a lot more noise and a lot more mess. They've destroyed a lot more than my cat in 3 months compared to my cat's 14 years. So, I do like dogs but would rather visit them than have them. Believe me when I say that I do love them and want them, though.
I love all animals (including the raccoons and possum that wander up to my house) but I have to say I love cats just slightly more than dogs. This is kind of dumb considering I am very allergic to cats yet I've almost always had one around.
I love dogs. Sorry, I'm not a huge fan of cats. All cats want is to be fed and to rub on you when they feel like it. Plus, they scratch at everything. It is true that dogs are a mans best friend. They will always love you no matter what and they need the love and affection. Everyday when I come home my little Emma is right there to greet me at the door. It never fails. They are always so happy to see me.
Sorry Jeff, have to disagree with you on this one. Cat's don't seem to be nearly as affectionate. We did have one cat that was a very sweet unique cat but for the most part dogs are more affectionate.
